Rudrabhishek & other puja

Rudrabhishek

Of the myriad traditional rituals in India, the Rudrabhishek holds special significance in Varanasi – the city where Lord Shiva resides. Rudrabhishek is a deeply spiritual hymn and ritual that invokes the blessings of Lord Shiva in his Rudra form, and confers peace, good health, and prosperity upon those that participate wholeheartedly in it. We offer the services of a traditional priest, who shall conduct this ritual onboard, and all passengers are welcome to participate. Our flagship will also be available as a venue on the Holy Ganga for a special Maharudrabhishekam (on a pre-booking basis).

Cruise Tours

Cruise Tours

We are currently offering morning and evening cruises onboard our flagship, the Alaknanda.

The early morning cruise  offers a splendid view of the entire riverfront and the river bathed in the golden sunrise. The slow cruise allows the viewer to take in every detail of the magnificent heritage at each of the 84 ghats.

The evening Ganga Arti cruise  will allow you to see the sun setting over the skyline, often with beautiful hues that lend a delicate tint to the river, as well as witness the Ganga Arati  – the daily ritual of offering devotion to the holy river Ganga – held at several ghats almost simultaneously, around 6:30 p.m. You can release floating wishing lamps into the dark river from the safety of our afterdeck. This trail of merrily twinkling lights will float gently downstream, as you enjoy an exclusive view of the well-lit ghats.

Both cruises will start at Assi Ghat, and conclude at the same point. Assi Ghat is easily accessible by car from all points in the city.

Tea/ coffee/ juice and biscuits are complimentary on both the morning and the evening cruises.
